Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the city experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for further attacks.
